DIY Mexican Painted Pottery

Hi There!   Since it is August, I better show you all the projects I have been working on this summer. Project #1 DIY Mexican Painted Pottery I am so proud of this little craft makeover! Last year- I painted two pots for the Patio in the same style. This year I will walk you through the steps on how I did it. Remember this guy? I found him thrifting last summer. Old, dirty, plastic, and only $1....

Succulents in Glass Jars- Year Two

Hi There!   I love plants. I love flowers. I love putting plants and flowers in my outdoor spaces. So, here are way too many photos of my succulents in glass containers. I love them all, they are all too pretty. I gathered all the plants together on the back patio, for a little photo shoot. They are not here all the time. I am in the middle of repainting this table. It is not done, or at least...

4th of July Front Porch

Hi There! It has been awhile, I know. But that doesn't mean I haven't been doing projects or decorating. So, lets jump right in! Here are way too many photos of my 4th of July front porch decor.   This was all put together in about an hour. Everything was already on hand in the garage or basement. Sometimes decorating is about finding the right mix if items. Using things you love- in new...

Late Fall Front Porch

Hi There!   I took these photos last month. It was right around Thanksgiving, but this how the Front porch had been decorated all of November and the first week of December. I love all the fall colors and wood tones.   The three picnic baskets were all thrifted, as well as the wood tool box. The blonde drum on the bottom right, is a cheese box. I wanted to paint or stain it, but the blonde...

The 10 minute Make-over

It is going to take me longer to put this posting together, than it took me to do. I love a quick project. Here in Michigan we are having end of summer days weather. One day it is 90 degrees, and the next it drops to 68 degrees. Over the next few weeks it will be warm, and then it will drop to cooler fall weather before we know it. All the stores are getting in the fall Mums and flowers. I...

Flowers from Succulents?

I know I said I was done with the plant postings for a while. And I really was, then I was watering the plants on the patio and I saw these. No flowers yet, but we have buds on the succulents! So awesome.Isn't that cool? It almost looks like a creature from Dr Suess. I can't wait for the buds to open. It looks like maybe the flowers will be yellow or white. There is a bug hanging out on the stalk...

How I like to Layer

The Front porch was looking good. All blue and pretty. But the plants were a little bit past their prime. And really, I was ready for a change. I wanted to mix it up, and keep it interesting. Let's be honest, I also just like to decorate. So it was time to redo the porch. This will be a long posting, with a lot of photos. I want to show how I layer everything and make it fun. I hope that I can...

Succulents again?

I love succulents, I have a bit of an obsession with them right now. Every time I go to Lowe's, I have to go and look at them. You now, just to see, I can't help it. Like I said, a bit of an obsession. Over a couple of trips I got a few more and took some pretty pictures to show you.I put these together a while ago. I love the look of the rocks and dirt through the glass vases. I clustered them...

Plants on the move

I showed you the front porch a while back. I love blue, and blue flowers. The flowers were new and fresh. So full and pretty. The furniture is painted blue. My favorite color blue at the moment, turquoise. Galvanized metal buckets, and a small pop of yellow from the little pot. Looked great!Well, as it goes with flowers- sometimes they die. Or get overgrown and "leggy" as these pansy's did.They...

A pretty spot by the Garage

Another little spot in the back yard. Small, but I have made it cute and colorful. When we moved in, this spot had a few little waxy perennials. The bricks were there to outline the little bed next to the walkway. A nice start. This spring I moved the stepping stone I made years ago here. I like how the orange glass is almost the same color as the bricks. I also planted some cute little light...
