The 10 minute Make-over

It is going to take me longer to put this posting together, than it took me to do. I love a quick project.
Here in Michigan we are having end of summer days weather. One day it is 90 degrees, and the next it drops to 68 degrees. Over the next few weeks it will be warm, and then it will drop to cooler fall weather before we know it.
All the stores are getting in the fall Mums and flowers. I love Mums, and I found these for a great deal at Costco. They are 14 inch pots for $14.99 each. I have seen them for the at least 10 dollars more for the same size at some other stores.
What I didn’t like was the brown pots.
 What to do? Paint!
I used the plastic wrap they came in to protect the flowers. I tucked it in around the base of the plant. I then made sure that the pot was nice and clean, and ready to spray paint.

I had a can and a half of a paint and primer mix. I like this color, it is so close to the galvanized metal color that I love.

Each pot only needed one coat of paint, so I was able to use up the half can of paint. That leaves a full can for another project.

There, that’s better. I like the gray so much better than the brown, don’t you? I can’t wait for all those purple flowers to open. They will be so pretty.

On the front porch they look great with the purple potato vine, and the red-green coleus.

Yes, the brown would have gone with the brown and cream colors on the house. I just like the gray better with my galvanized buckets and blue stool and turquoise door. This was such a quick and easy fix. I love it.
There you have it, 10 minutes to do the project. And 20 minutes to put the posting together.
Well worth my time, don’t you think?
