Quick cute window coverings

Hey Kids, I know I haven’t posted in a while. The winter has been bad, which I know everyone already knows. But I have had a real hard time getting motivated. I have done projects, and taken photos, just have not felt like posting. I want to thank everyone for waiting. I have a few things to show you that I did this winter, and quite a few things in the works. I can’t wait to show you, so here we go.

Here is a cute easy project I did in an afternoon back in February. Window valances in my kitchen.

I always want to add more color to my decorating. I bought one yard of this cute fabric at JoAnn’s, using a 40% coupon of course. I cut it in half, hemmed all sides, and made a channel for the curtain rod. It only took about an hour, including ironing the fabric. In my opinion, $5.99 well spent. I love the modern floral pattern, I love the turquoise blues, the oranges and the greens and the pop of red is awesome.

This window is above the kitchen sink. It is a north facing window and can get quite dark. This little bit of fabric brightens it so much. Such a happy little pattern. Makes me smile 🙂

I have a few other blue and red items in the kitchen to tie in with this fabric. I have more photos to show you, but that will be another posting. I promise that now with the break in the weather, I will be posting more. I hope you enjoy this first tiny look at my kitchen.

  1. HI Jackie! Yes, this winter has been horrible. I'm glad to see you're still at it, chica! I look at this and think "I could do this" then I realize that it would be covered in blood from the countless finger pricks that would occur from me trying to sew. *le sigh*

  2. Hey Sasha, we need to get you sewing! If you can drive a car, you can use a sewing machine. Trust me, it is not that scary! Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoy the new postings.
