What to do with an Odd little built in

You may remember this  odd little built in from the dining room tour. It’s not very deep, only 3 inches. Not much you can do with it. I can’t paint it, as I have said before I’m renting this little house. It is just so much white in a tiny room, I want color and pattern!

Just deep enough for a few wine glasses and some little knickknacks.

Enter a $1 roll of wrapping paper, blue tape, scissors, and a tape measure. About 45 minutes later, this is what you can get. It is far from perfect, but I love how it looks. Since I used the blue tape, I can take it down or switch it out with out damaging the walls. Very little time and money invested, and I get my color and pattern!

Sorry about the glare on the paper. Next time I will look for a flat finish paper. And yes, that is my sewing machine case on the floor. I am horrible about putting it away, I have more projects to work on.

I am still learning to use my camera, so sorry about the bad photo’s. I took these pictures at night, and tried to lighten them.  Give me some time, I will figure it out.
It’s a great background for the dining room. I like having something interesting to look at. I have since added a few more accessories to the shelves. But I will save that for another post.
Thanks for stopping by, let me know what you think.  ðŸ™‚
