Pretty Shelves in the Dining Room

Hi There!

Sorry, I have been gone so long. I have been busy.

Work, life, etc. Enough said, we have all been there.

So, today I am back with a quick look at the Odd built-in the Dining room.

This odd little built in has 4″ deep shelves, so not much will fit for decorating. But this is the little spot that I change up for the seasons, or when I am just bored. I do believe at one point, these shelves were open to the Front door on the other side. This is a Mid Century Home after all.

I used part of my collection of aluminum trays. I love metals. Silver metals. Galvanized metals. Pressed aluminum. Here are a few of my favorites trays. Each has a floral pattern, and each are very cool. The poor mans silver.

The “circle” artworks were DIY crafts that I made. Sometimes I just want to make something fun and pretty to look at. It was a quick and simple project. I used a paper punch, a mix of scrapbook paper, and a couple of frames. Cut the circles, place them on a backing, and frame it. Quick and simple! I really enjoy the graphic look of the circles.

I put in a mix of wooden spools of twine from the Target dollar spot. I only used a few of the ones I have, keeping with white or tan neutrals and just a couple of red. Using the red twine for a pop of color.

On the bottom shelf, you will see 4 dark gray bottles. These were a test DIY with that new Beach/ Frosted/ Etched spray paint. They came out a little bit too dark, but I like them anyway. Although, I have been thinking I may get the blue or green paint and do a light coat over the gray to lighten them a bit. That will be another test for sure!

Do you have a little spot you like to decorate?

Thanks for stopping by!
