Pretty Outdoor Spaces

I take lots of photos. I take photos of pretty little vignette and spaces around the house and yard that I haver decorated. It fuels my creative side. The decorating, and then the photo taking. More and more I am trying to do the things that make me happy, and it makes me happy. But now what? Well, I collected a few of my favorite photos from the summer to show you. All together they don’t tell a complete story, but they do show our home and how we live. I hope you enjoy!

I had gotten this tool bench for just $10! It is homemade and quirky and oh so cool! Thje chair was found free by the side of the road. She will be getting a make over, but until then she sits here and waits her turn. The artwork is a DIY of course.

This is a spot on our front porch. I put a sewing machine table under the mailbox. The galvanized flowers are magnets from the craft store.

Another thrifted bench topped with succulents and plants.

We had a small party for a friend, and I had set up a table in the yard for everyone to sit at. The flowers came from another friends garden.

I was really drawn to glass accessories this year on the patio. I put this bottles and candle holders on top of a shelving unit.

I have a thing for Swans. The swan on the left my boyfriend rescued from the yard of a house that had a fire. The house had been abandoned for a few months, and she had just been sitting there. The wicker swan was found at an Estate sale for $6. I love her face so much!

I love this corner of our patio. We sit in those chairs and have coffee many mornings. And at night we enjoy the fire pit.

I love decorating my front porch, and this was one of my favorite vignettes this year. Everything was a thrifted find, except Spike my metal dog. He is so fun and quirky! I like that he adds a bit of humor.

I love galvanized metal. I collect buckets every time I see them at thrift stores or garage sales. That way when I bring home flowers I can plop them in a bucket and be done! Different sizes add charm, don’t you think? And I love all finishes too! The weathered finish on the taller bucket and the brand new shiny on the short. Mixing them together adds interest.

The color on this Gerber daisy was amazing! A bold orange, that my boyfriend brought home for me for no reason. Other than he thought I would like it, and he was right.

DIY Mexican painted pottery year 4. I painted these pots and you can check out all the posts for them here, and here, and here. The cork flag my boyfriend and I made. We sold it to a sweet young lady who saw it in our garage sale ad, and drove 30 minutes to our house to get it. She really wanted it, and it made us happy she liked it so much.

I love this little watering can. It was a dark green color, very dated, very 90’s. A couple of coats of flat black spray paint, and now he is cool and modern!

More galvanized buckets, another DIY flag, and my garden Gnome.

These tiny Snap dragon type flowers lasted all of the spring and most of the summer. They were so pretty, I loved the colors- purple, pink and yellow.

There you have it. Random photos from our home this summer. I hope that you enjoyed it and maybe gave you inspiration for your own home.
