An Outdoor Gallery Wall

Hi There!

I have another summer project to share with you.
It is something I decided to do one Saturday morning and was finished by Sunday afternoon. I never work this fast on a project. I often think about it for awhile, get my supplies, and then start. This time I jumped right in about an hour after making the decision. And was working on it two hours later.
Project #3 Outdoor Gallery Wall
This is an odd little space by the garage. I can see it from the kitchen window where I wash dishes.
I have wanted to hang a planter box or something there for awhile now.
But as usual I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on it.

The wood fence wall is a pretty gray- brown color, but I really needed something bright to look at.

In came some thrift store frames.
I went out Saturday morning and bought the five large frames for $7.
I had all the small frames in my stash from another project.

I painted each frame a different shade of blue, green and purple.

Some of the frames had already been painted black, so I just washed the color over the black.
Giving each frame kind of a mottled look.
I gave the all frames two coats of sealer to protect the paint and the frames from the weather.

I didn’t have a plan for the placement of the frames on the fence. I started with the rectangle green frame at the top, and just filled in frames as I liked them.

I just love how it turned out!
Bright pretty colors to look at, and the colors won’t fade like flowers would have.

I might put a few frames on the gate to the right. But I don’t want this to be too much, you know?

Now when ever I am at the window in the kitchen I just smile at these silly frames.
They make me happy.

What do you think?
Pretty? Silly?
Leave a comment below, I would love to hear from you!
Thanks for stopping by!
