So Many Gray Days Front Porch

Hi There!
I have not been as active on the blog as I have wanted to be. But that does not mean I haven’t been decorating or taking photos. Here is a quick post on how the Front porch was decorated for most of the winter and into the early spring.
Lots of my favorites:
-Blue
-Gray
-Galvanized metal
-thrifted items
-and crafts too
I always have some type of decor on the porch, even in the Winter. Not that we had a lot of snow this year, but to make sure- everything here was able to stand the elements.

Old galvanized buckets, lanterns, and a wine crate I stained gray. They all have the same tone of gray color, and make the light blue of the wicker table really stand out.

The silver barrel I got at an estate sale for just a couple of dollars. It was already painted silver, the man told me that it was used for Christmas decorations. The small drum is a cheese box I painted blue and then dry brushed silver over it. And the galvanized box was found on the side of the road. It is starting to rust, and that just makes me love it more!

I made all of the origami stars out of scrapbook paper I had on hand. They were a bit complicated, but fun to make. I found the instructions on line and practiced on plain white computer paper first.

I stapled the stars to some twine and hung them on a couple of nails. I loved how sometimes it would blow in the wind. So pretty.

Winters in Michigan can be dark and gray. The metals and woods really played to that color theme.

I love that I can use the same items over and over again and depending on what else they are paired with, the color story can change.
The wicker table is usually on the porch, but it has been on the back patio and by the back door as well. I have used the lanterns for most of the porch decorating. One or all three of them are on the porch at any given time. The buckets are empty here, but have been filled with flowers in the past.
Use what you have, and mix it up! It can be fun.
I will be back with the next mix soon.
Thanks for stopping by!
