Rusted Metal Fall Front Porch

I love the look of metal. Any metal.

Galvanized, hammered, rusted, shiny, brass, silver, copper, old, or new.

I love the look of metal.

Here is the front porch decorated with some metals and bright blues.

Our front porch is small, but I have such fun decorating it.

I like to layer thrifted finds with crafts that I have made. The aluminum ice bucket has a hole and was only a $1 at a garage sale, but is still pretty. The blue glass candle holder was another thrifted find, for you guessed it- $1.

The wood oval piece was a craft that I made in one afternoon. I painted the wood a flat black and used my favorite Number stencil in white. I just love the graphic nature of typography. It is so simple and bold and I love it.

I like having a table and a stool next to the front door to place bags on while unlocking the door. It helps a lot when bringing in groceries. And having the extra furniture pieces on the porch, add to the style and feel of the vignette.

I am so in love with this galvanized-handled-double bucket. It was an estate sale find, that I found under a ton stuff in a messy barn. I think that it was only a couple of dollars. Potted inside are two Rosemary plants, that smell so good when ever they are touched. I love the way this looks.

I use this chalkboard all the time on the front porch. It was a thrifted frame, that I added plywood to and painted with chalkboard paint. I have actually made two of these, since I found a pair of frames that matched. It is nice to have seasonal sayings written on the chalkboard, such as the “happy fall”. But I have also used the chalkboard when we have parties to let people know they have the right house. This one looks like it got a little rain on it. It looks cool all mottled.

More thrifted and crafted items.

The lantern I got for free. It was a cream color, and had seashells and sand in it. It was not my style. I cleaned out the shells and sand and spray painted it with a gray hammered metal paint. The Tray in the back was found at an estate sale for just $1. It is old and worn and so lovely! The bright blue jars, were spray painted with Krylon* Sea glass paint. It is a very cool product, that gives glass a etched feel and look.

I am so in love with the rust on my milk can. It is too pretty for words…

The Ivy plant is potted in a small metal bucket. But to give him some height I added him to a tall blue striped planter. Cute!

This is one of those Pinterest projects I just had to try! And old book, a wire form from the Dollar store and a stapler. It was so easy, and I love how it turned out.

I love decorating the Front porch. It is gives me joy. And we all need more joy- don’t we?

What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by my little blog.

Let me know how I can improve! I would love to hear your feedback.
