Master Bedroom Tour

Hi There!
I have a full tour of our bedroom for you today.
I had found another dresser on Craigslist, and rearranged our room up a bit. Whenever a room is clean, I like to take photos to show how good it looks.
I want you to see how small this room really is. It is the largest of the three bedrooms in our little rental house, but it is still small. I took this photo from the hallway. The wall that the bed and two dressers -that we use as nightstands- are on, is the longest wall in the room.

The bed is all dressed in gray and white. Light gray sheets are the base of the bedding. They are microfiber and came from Target. At the back are dark gray velvet covers on the Euro pillows that act as a headboard, the covers and pillows are from Ikea. The white “me + you” pillow cases came from Cost Plus World Market. I saw them on another blog ( I am sorry- I don’t remember which one ) and had to go and get them! The stripped duvet cover is from Ikea.

This is the dresser I found on Craigslist. It is from Ikea, and it matches the other one on the other side of the bed. I got them both for a steal, much less than one would have been new. I don’t normally go for matchy-matchy furniture, but with the two matching lamps it works better. The purple glass lamps are from Pottery Barn, a gift I gave my boyfriend when we moved in. He loves purple!

I love these photo wall shelves from Ikea. They are just 2 or 3 inches deep, but you can layer things on them. I have photos of my boyfriend and I, mixed with cards he gave me in shadowboxes, and a couple of little mirrors. All special little things we love.
I love this look- very Pottery Barn catalog!

This dresser is on the other side, I love how deep these are. They hold a lot more than you think they should for four drawers.

This photo was taken just inside the bedroom door, again to show how small this room really is. I wish the windows were bigger, but I love the wood floors. I will take wood floors over carpet any day! So much easier to clean. I would like to get a nice area rug for under the bed, just waiting to find the right one. Something gray or a sturdy jute one, I will know it when I see it.

I love this dresser. It is so pretty, even with the broken drawer. I just pile all my jeans on the shelf, very easy access.  Fixing the drawer is on my list for this spring.

We got the dresser at a thrift store, around $75- I think. It has a painted flower motif on the top drawer, and a flower stripe boarder on the other drawers. I believe they are all decals, not hand painted. I don’t care, they are still subtle and pretty.

The mirror I got at a friends garage sale. It is not an exact match to the dresser, but they “marry” very well. I love the top curve of the mirror.
The fan is not vintage, it just looks that way. It is a Vornado and it is awesome! Those fans are so worth the money. I have had this one for over ten years at least, it is still so quiet and smooth.
( This is not a sponsored post, I just love the fan! )

I want to be very clear here, this room is never this clean!
In fact about ten minutes after taking these photos, I put back all the clutter we live with. I believe in being completely honest, and wanted you to know the truth! We can be messy, and can leave shoes and clothes laying around.
That said, you can still have a pretty room! I still want to hang some artwork, get a rug and fix a dresser drawer. You don’t have to wait until you have everything that you want for your room.
Work with what you have- clean it, paint it, move it to a new spot and make it work for you.
Why wait?
Thanks for stopping by! Come on back soon.
