How to get warm vibes in your Fall Decorating using Wood and Glass
The weather here in Michigan is starting to cool down. Up until a week ago, it had been in the mid to upper 80s. Now the temps have been in the low 70s- my favorite. Cool enough for a sweater, but warm enough for flip-flops. For today’s post, I am sharing my dining room built-in with some warm fall vibes for cooler weather and Fall Decorating using Wood and Glass
This is another blog hop with my friends Ashlee, Liz, Shanna, and a new friend to our hop- Jessica! You’re going to love her! Jessica and I have been Instagram friends for a few years and I have always loved her style. She’s a thrifting, crafty mom of two and is going to fit right in with our little group! Please make sure to check out all of my sweet friend’s posts on fall seasonal decor at the bottom of this post! We have so much inspiration for you
Warm Colors=Warm Vibes
When I start decorating a space I always start with a color or texture that I want to highlight. For Fall- I love warm brown wood tones. Using cutting boards from my collection gives that warm blond, tan, and brown colors that I love. I layered the cutting boards in the built-ins first to set the tone.
Check out my post from last fall on this space. It was the first time that I used my cutting board collection as the inspiration for this same space- Fall Decorating with Cutting Boards
Budget Brown Glass Bottles
Warm amber or brown glass is so on-trend right now. Vintage amber glass bottles can be hard to find. And sometimes the vintage ones are expensive too. So here is an easy tip- Kombucha tea drinks usually come in brown glass bottles. I will treat myself to a Lemon Ginger Kombucha drink once in a while. Then for $3 I get a sweet fizzy drink that is good for me, and a warm brown bottle to add to my collection. Like the one above that I am using to propagate a new plant vine.
Add a little shine with a DIY Mirror
Using mirrors is such an easy way to add light and shine to any vignette when decorating. I pulled out this $4 DIY Sunburst Mirror that I made last year. It was such a fun and easy project to do. And I still love the bronze-gold paint color that I painted it- it fits in so nicely with the wood tones and the brown glass bottles.
DIY Artwork- All you need is a printer and a frame
Another super affordable way to add seasonal decor- is to find downloadable art prints that you can print out on your home printer. All I did was print out this Moth print on cardstock and placed it in a Dollar Store frame. I printed the Moth botanical out two years ago and I can’t remember which museum collection I had found it in. But I know that many of the big national art museums have portions of their collections online with free downloads. You can get lost in that rabbit hole for sure!
