DIY Shibori Pillow Cover

Hello.

I did a cute and fun project awhile ago. Shibori is a hot trend right now, and I love the color blue. If you are not familiar with Shibori, it is simply a wrap and tie dye technique. That can get messy.

There had to be a quicker, easier way. I saw this project in my HGTV magazine, and of course on Pinterest. It was very satisfying and I love the results!

 Materials needed:

  • White pillow cover. I got mine from Ikea for $4
  • Permanent Blue marker. Mine came from the Dollar store
  • Ruler. Had in my stash
  • Rubbing Alcohol. Had in the Bathroom
  • Small paint brush. Had in my stash

Project Total = $5

I cut a piece of cardboard to fit inside of the pillow cover. Then with the ruler and the permanent marker I drew out my lines and made the pattern.

Then with the paint brush drop puddles of the rubbing alcohol on the lines.

Then the magic happens and the ink bleeds. So fun to watch!

I made only one this time around, but I have the supplies to make another.

What do you think?

Cute, right?

Tie dye, do you love it?

Thanks for stopping by!
