Where to go from here?

Hi There!

I am sorry, that I have been a bit absent, not that anyone has really noticed. The month of December is a very busy month for me. My full time job goes into to overload, with 12 to 14 hour days. It was hard enough keeping up with dishes and laundry, let alone write on my little blog here.
Anyway, if you missed me, Thank you. I have missed working on this little project of mine. And I have made a list of things I want to do with it in 2015.
I have been reading blogs for over three years now. It all started with one blog I saw featured in Better Homes and Gardens magazine. I loved magazines, and I still do. At one time, way back in the late 90’s, I was getting 8 or 10 magazines a month. I have been reading BH&G for 25 years or more, each month devouring it in two days or less. When I discovered this blog, it was able to give me the fix I was needing everyday. And of course one blog led to the next and so on.

When you read blogs, some are very good, and some, well- not so much. I kept thinking that maybe I could do a blog. But here was the problem, I am not a very good writer, I didn’t have a camera and I am not the most tech savvy girl either. How was I going to do a blog? Where would I start?
Then my boyfriend gave me a camera for Christmas. He told me to just start one, I could be good at it- if I tried. I was a bit scared, but now I didn’t have any reason not to start a blog. I kept putting things off for a couple of weeks, and then I jumped right in. I had my daughter help me start a Blogger account, and I came up with this lame name for my blog. Mostly because it was how I was feeling about the whole project. Jackie can’t blog, but she is going to anyway.

I started taking pictures of rooms and projects I was already decorating. I started posting the photos, I started to learn more about my camera, and computer. I hoped my writing was getting better.

Some months have been easier to do posting than others. Sometimes I was inspired, sometimes not.
I did not reach all my goals for 2014.
But that’s what new years are for, right?

I started this little project a year ago, January 18, 2014.
I have done 66 postings, including this one.
There have been over 1,300 viewings of my blog.
Where to go from here?

My first goal is to post twice a week for the first three months. From now through the end of March I will do two postings a week. I want to increase my content here on the blog.

I want to learn more about taking photos. I need to take better photos. I need to learn more about photo shop and editing. Better photos- better blog!

I want to increase my viewings.
I am going to do linky parties starting in April. I have found almost all the blogs I read through linky parties. I think this will be a good way to start getting people to look at the blog.
Confession time:
I don’t comment on the blogs I read.
This year- I will comment and ask the bloggers I admire to read mine.

I am new to Facebook. I kind of find it exhausting.
I have never been on Instagram, or Twitter.
I am going to increase my blogs presence on social media.
I can’t even believe I just wrote that. If you knew me, like really knew me in real life. You would know why that was so hard for me to write.

I would love a new name for the blog.
I have to think about this one more, I am waiting for it to come to me.

I need a photo of myself. For the blog, Facebook and etc…
(this one is really hard, I hate photos of myself)

I want the blog to grow.
I really want it to be something I can be proud of.

I have learned that when you have a vision, you need to share it.
If you put it out into the world, it will come back to you.

Well, that’s a few of the things I want to do here on the blog, its a start.
Let’s just see where we go from here. I hope you will join me 🙂
Thanks for stopping by! come back soon!
