Thrifting Treasures #4

It was a great week thrifting.
These were found on two separate days, one day at thrift stores and the other garage sales
A hanging votive candle holder. This was at a garage sale and was the most interesting item they had. I am always amazed at the things people try to sell.

I love the mosaic glass circles and the great pink-red color. This is going out back on the patio.

This Ikea galvanized shelf was new in the plastic.
$1

A dirty flower pot with great details. I will base paint coat it now, and wait until winter to paint all the details. It is going to look great with my DIY Mexican pottery paint job.

Wow, she is going to need a really good scrubbing.
$1

I got all these terra-cotta pots at one garage sale for $4.

I love the look of aged terra-cotta.

This was the find of the week. A real heavy duty trunk, not one of those paper side deals.

The guy said he had had it since college and had been painted many times.

The inside did not smell musty, thank goodness. But it was covered in an odd contact paper. Luck was on my side, in that it pulled off pretty easily.

It does have some rust and some damaged.

But it looks to be metal inside and out. I am pretty excited about this project. I hope I can get all the paint off and make the metal pretty.
$5

This was by the side of the road. Dirty, veneer peeling off the edges. Dated and a bit tacky.

I see her cleaned up with a coat of high gloss paint. Sitting with plants on the shelves on the patio or front porch.

I love this set of copper canisters. They are in great condition. Our kitchen has copper hinges on the cabinets, and these are the right age for this house. The knobs need to be cleaned up and re-stained.
$3

I have always wanted a bowling ball bag.

No rips, the zipper works, and the inside is clean. And it was only $3.50

An aluminium tray with rolled edges. I have never seen that before.
$2

I can always find a use for a nice tray.

And for 50 cents, I will take it.

Two small frames, 50 cents each.

An old cutting board from an estate sale.

25 cents

A galvanized memo board. I had to have that!
$1

A beautiful tablecloth. This screams Fall to me, I can’t wait to use it for Thanksgiving.

I love the colors and pattern. And look at the edges, I don’t think it has been used.
$6
I have already started on some projects with a few of these things. I will keep you up to date on how they go.
