Thrifting Treasures #1

I love thrift stores and garage sales to go treasure hunting. You never know what you are going to find. If you are willing to do the work, you can get a really good deal.

I thought I would show some of the things I have gotten in the last couple of weeks. Everything is just as I found it. Everything needs to be cleaned. And Everything will be transformed in some way. I hope you can see the potential that I do.

I found this little table at a Re-use store. I love the shape so much. My daughter said it looks like it came out of Beauty and the Beast. Too cute.

It looks like someone tried to strip whatever paint was on it before. Was it Yellow maybe?

For only $10, I will take it. I can’t wait to paint it. I see it on the front porch with pots of flowers on it.

I love this little 70’s bamboo table.

Look at all those curly-cues. Lovely. I see it painted a high-gloss color. I just need to decide which color to go with.

I found it at the same Re-use store on the same trip. $20 plus tax, and I was out the door.
We use cloth napkins. I like finding different ones and mixing them on the table.
For 50 cents, I can buy a lot of napkins.

A little mosaic candle holder. I love all the gray-blue colors.

50 cents again!?! You betcha!

This little guy has the same gray-blue colors. I couldn’t leave him behind.
Another 50 cents and we keep the family together.

A kiwi green flower pot. I love this color. I always buy these pots when I see them.

Only $1.50 and he is added to my collection.

A jar of blue and green sea glass? Oh- yes please!

The jar looks full and new. What a lucky find. There is so many projects I can use these for.
I know $1.50 was not the retail price 😉

3 Blue, Gray, and White plaid napkins. 50 cents each, great deal.
A Multi-color striped table cloth. It is an outdoor fabric, which basically means to me that it won’t stain. I love that. I can use it inside and out.
At $6, that is a good deal I will take.

I got this patio table from a friend. $15 was good for her, and good for me.

I have been looking at suitcases on Pinterest. I love this hard case style. It is also my favorite colors, Blue and Gray.

Look at how pretty the inside is. I love that blue!

I love the $3 price too.

I have a thing for enamelware dishes. And again it’s my favorite color, Blue.

No stains on the inside and $4. Awesome.

A basket of shiny-bright ornaments. I love the patina they get. I am sure I won’t keep the basket, it’s not my style.

I love the hand painted one so much. Too pretty. It was $2.50 for all.

When I go to Estate sales I always look for wood cutting boards. This is a bamboo one, and it was only a dollar. This side is all scratched up from the use.

This side is beautiful, as though they never use it at all. Is it odd to you they would only use one side? I think it is. Not so odd, I didn’t take it home 😉

I love trays, I love galvanized metal. This tray had to come home with me.

It was marked $4, but the woman gave it to me for $2. It was the end of her sale and I think she was letting stuff go cheap, so she wouldn’t have to pack it back up. Works for me.

I pulled this ceiling light cover out of a “free” box. I don’t have a place for it to go, but I wanted to make sure it didn’t get thrown away.

Look at the crackles and bubbles. Too pretty. I will find it a good home, I know it.

This punched tin lamp was at an Estate sale. They had it marked at $20. I asked if they would take $10, the guy came back with $13. I said okay, and happily took it home. I cut out the old lamp parts and cord and tossed them out. They were old and sticky.

Galvanized punched tin. I love it. I already got a new cord set for this, I just need to paint the inside, so the light will be nice and bright. Then I will hang it. I know just the place. Watch for that posting coming soon.
Okay, that’s a look at some of my new treasures. They are the sum of two weeks, one Estate sale, two Re-use stores and a handful of garage sales. Each item was not too much money. I spent more time looking than money. Now the fun part is to use them in my decorating.
I hope you enjoyed my shopping. I will make this a regular posting as I go thrifting.
Which deal do you think is the best?
