I have been wanting to show pictures of our front window. It is such a great feature of the house. I have just been waiting for an overcast day to try and take the photos. Too much sun coming through the window has not been kind to my photos in the past. And I have been playing around with my camera, trying to make my pictures look better. Not all of these are great. And some have a green tint to them, I think from all the trees and bushes in the yard. Some look good. I just wish that they looked as good as I thought they did, when I took them. This is all a learning curve for me.
A full shot of the window. I love this window, it is so mid-century modern. There is a few houses in the neighborhood with a window like this. Not all of them seem to have the ledges that we do. This was the first area that I decorated when we moved in.
I am pretty sure I was putting jars in the window as my boyfriend carried in boxes. He supports all my craziness. Sweet Man.
I have been collecting Ball jars for years. The first two I ever got were at a yard sale, and I put them on the front porch of my old house. I haven’t stopped since.
A succulent in a thrifted pot and another little thrifted pot waiting for a plant. Both pots have great raised details.
The clear Ball jar is one of the first presents my boyfriend ever gave me. It was his, and he wanted me to have it. It is the only clear jar that I have.
I prefer the metal lids over the glass ones with the metal clasp. I just love the galvanized metal look. I think I have said that before. 😉
The seltzer water bottle was a gift from a friend who had two. I had told her the story of going to an Estate sale, who had one that was way out of my price range. This one
still has the paper label on the front and water inside.
Another little succulent, this time in a kiwi green pot.
The jar in the middle was made for the bicentennial. I love a jar that is over 30 years old.
Some jars say “Perfect Mason”, others say “Ideal”. I say, yes to both!
I love these little conductors. Great blue colors!
I got this patterned jar at an estate sale. A friend and I went to the same sale, just at different times. She had been there before me and seen this little jar, she almost got it for me. I was there about an hour after her, and scooped it up. Later that night at dinner, we were talking about our morning thrifting and made the connection. It’s lovely to have friends who know what you like. Even if they don’t buy it for you 😉
A ceramic bird. He was the right color and price at only $1 at a thrift store.
A lot of pictures of old canning jars, I know. Some of the pictures were good, some were well…..
I am working on it. 😉
