The Back Yard Firepit Area

HiĀ There! Welcome to my little blog, where I share my home decorating and DIY projects. I really appreciate it šŸ™‚

Summer is coming and we are getting the backyard ready for entertaining. For the last six weeks, we have been working on some projects for making the space more enjoyable. One small project we have completed is to move our firepit off of the patio and to one of the back corners of the yard.

This is where we started a couple of months ago. Two GreenĀ plastic AdirondackĀ chairs, that we found for FREE by the side of the road. You may have chairs similar to these, many people do. Or you can find some here for a good price and a pretty color too! I am still deciding if I should paint my chairs toĀ refresh them,Ā but that’sĀ another project for another day. We took the old firepit base, and placed it on four new gray stepping stones.

When we moved into our cute little rental home a few years ago, there was a big pile of these red bricks behind the garage. Over the time that we have been here, we have used almost all of the bricks to complete a few garden projects. Here we used some of the bricks to complete the pattern of theĀ square base for the firepit to sit on. I love the addition of the red bricks to the gray squares, it adds just a little bit of interest to what could be an afterthought of a project.

I made a quick side table with a galvanized bucket and a large plastic tray. This is just a placeholder until I find something cute and of course cheap!!!

The pillows are “outdoor” fabric that I was able to find at a “dollar” store for $5 each. They’re cute and in my colors, and if they don’t last I will be okay.

It’s such a warm little spot to enjoy a fire.

I really need to take this advice! šŸ˜‰

Please excuse the tall grass, we had a lawnmower malfunction. Next time you see this spot it will look neater.

Thanks so much for checking out anotherĀ spot in our backyard.
