Sugar Skull Front Porch- Halloween 2016

Today I have more Bright Colorful Sugar Skulls for you- I do love them! I have more Halloween Decorating to share. Trying to share all the Halloween decor that I can before the big day next week. Next month we can talk Fall Decorating 🙂 Then jump to some Christmas decor.

I’m feeling the need to ramble, so I am warning you, I’m not sure where this post is going. Please feel free to just look at the photos if you’d like. I am just saying…

I love having a blog, it fuels my creativity. I love to decorate and I like to take photos and sometimes I write a post to go with those photos. Sometimes, I lose track of what photos I have posted and what photos that I haven’t. Sometimes, I take time away from the blog. Sometimes, I wonder why I’m writing and working on something that no one is reading or looking at. Sometimes.

This post is one of those posts- that I thought I had posted already- kind of posts. ( how many times can you use the word “post” in a sentence? ) I will admit the photos are not that great. And looking back, I think that maybe I wasn’t as happy with how it turned out as I wanted to be.

With trying to post everyday leading up to Halloween, I just decided to post these photos and put them out there. Wherever that is… Anyway, enough rambling.

I crafted all of the artwork on the porch. The numbers art, the graphic triangle art, and the skull tins art. Me and craft paint, we’re the best of friends.

Some old boots, a few glass bottles, and a couple of tin buckets with dollar store flowers. When decorating I look at what I have and how can I mix it together to make it fresh and new. I often try and stick to a color story, and for this one it was Pink, Purple and Turquoise. Mixing in lots of Black and White for balance.

More DIY crafts- the colorful sugar skull on the table at the top, is a shopping bag that I clipped together with binder clips. The large white skull- is a felt skull from the dollar store that I put on cardboard in a thrifted frame. I then used a sharpie and doodled around the edges. And lastly the black sugar skull- was a craft kit that I put on white cardboard in another thrifted frame.

This is a craft wood sugar skull that I painted. It was nice to be able to paint it with colors that I wanted and liked. I really love how it came out.
