Best of: My Halloween Front Porch Posts

Now, I don’t want to toot my own horn. But I think my decorating game for Halloween is on point! I have always loved it! Today I thought that I would share some favorite photos from the last 3 years. Click on the heading of each year to go to the original posts.

This was a creepy gothic look. Skulls, crows, and spiders ruled the roost, with a rat throw in for good measure. Everything was black, gray, silver, white, with a little bit of purple.

The art piece on the chair was a Pinterest-made-me-do-it project. I love how it came out. And it was super simple too! A thrifted wood frame, plastic bugs hot glued to cardboard, and spray paint the whole thing black.

Most everything was either thrifted or came from the Dollar store. In my opinion it’s all about layering! Gather more items than you think you will use, and just make small vignettes until you have filled the space.

Those Mums and ornamental Corn were so gorgeous! They were grew so big and full.

My Halloween Front Porch 2014

This was our first halloween in our little rental house. I thrifted all the candlesticks and painted them all black.

The tree branches fell from the tree in our front yard, and I painted them black. I guess I paint a lot of things black, its my go to 😉 Dollar store crows, and candles that drip when burning. All adds to the creepy vibe for Halloween. I love it all.

More Dollar store decor, skulls, spiders, and plastic bugs on cardboard. I made all of the DIY poison bottles, you can see how here.

Sugar Skull Halloween Porch 2016

DSCF2283

Last year I wanted to try something a little different. I wanted bright and colorful, with lots of Sugar Skulls. Pinks, purples, turquoise, and lime green.

This is a craft skull that I painted. The plain craft wood skull came from Michael’s Craft store. It was fun to paint all the details in the colors I wanted, it really made it my own.

It was fun and cheery. And it brought a smile to my face every time we came home.

Look at those Sugar Skull faces, how can you not smile? 🙂
