A Super Simple DIY(ish) Potting Bench

Hello There!

I’ve decided to put in some more time here. My plan is to post at least 3 to 4 times a week. In order for me to make this a success, I will need to do the work. Makes sense, right?

Let’s get to it πŸ˜‰

At the start of the summer, I had a half day of work. I was at home alone and puttering around the yard. The weather was nice and we had just gotten some annuals for the patio. I was walking by this little spot by the garage, and thought that it just needed a little something. Ya know? And I got an idea…

Now what I am about to describe to you, is so simple that I am not sure I should really call it a DIY. These were all things I had laying around, and if you have something similar you could make one too!!!

I had these two wire modern looking cubes that I had assembled last year, you can see that post here.Β And lots of scrap wood from pallets that my boyfriend and I had broken down. I set the cubes in front of the garage and placed the pallet wood on top. And that’s it! So simple, but you know what? I love it! I placed a few terra cotta pots and a watering can and flowers and called it done. I went to work later that day, and I was happy! It’s the little things, ya know? A quick and cute little project done before work. And it cost me nothing! Even better πŸ™‚

As the Summer went on, so did my puttering around the yard. I put my favorite Garden Gnome in the mix, along with a thrifted Ball jar and a lantern. Then I found the cutest old paint splattered step stool at an Estate sale for just $2.50, and I set it next to my little potting bench. Added a bucket of flowers and a piece of firewood. And called it done for a second time. The little things…

But that’s the thing. When you love to decorate, you’re never really done. You are always moving items around and making new vignettes. I love it, it’s fun. It fuels my creative side.

This is how it looked at the end of the Summer. Most of the original elements are still here. Just added another plant in a little galvanized pot, and some DIY Craft artwork for color. Always changing, ever evolving. It’s what I love about the creative process of decorating.
