Spring is here! Now it’s time for an old fashioned spring cleanup and a no spend Patio Refresh.
I am once again joining my friends Ashlee and Liz for another Sweet Link Up blog hop. This time around we are each tackling an outdoor space. I’m going to share with you how I have been working on a backyard Patio Refresh without spending any money!
Be sure to check out Ashlee and Liz‘s outdoor themed posts at the bottom of this one!
After the winter holidays, I always start dreaming about warmer weather and how to decorate the backyard patio each year. I cuddle up on the couch and peruse Pinterest and Instagram for inspiration. This year I have been drawn to black and white bohemian style patios and backyards.

Then I couldn’t wait to get out there and get to work. Well, with all that has been happening in the world and since we are all spending more time at home- I decided to take full advantage and do a full backyard spring cleanup. It was a lot of work, but our yard has never looked so good! Once all the cleanup was done, it was now time I turned my attention to doing a No Spend Patio Refresh– using just the items that we already own.
A Gray Galvanized Metal Collection
Over the years I have collected a pretty large collection of galvanized metal items. A few trays, buckets, pails, lanterns, and a couple of stools. Many have been found while out thrifting- at garage sales and thrift stores. A couple of items were bought brand new, but still on a budget. When you love something like I do with galvanized metal- you’re drawn to it while out shopping.
These galvanized metal flowers were a fun find at TJ Maxx a couple of years ago. They’re such a fun element that adds a big impact to the side of the garage.
Hanging wall decor outside makes an outdoor space feel more like an inside room.
This cute black metal tea-cart was bought from a friend. It needs a back wheel repair, but until then it holds more galvanized pots and buckets. We’re not able to go plant shopping just yet, but when we can these will all be filled with bright pretty greenery.
My pallet DIY Painted Barn Quilt is still one of my favorite projects to date! It’s kinda big and very heavy- so I just placed it on top of the table to give some height to the outdoor space.

Liz of Living with Liz has been renovating her home and working on her back deck
My friend Liz’s Man had a near-miss accident with the deck floor of the house they are renovating. He’s okay- thank goodness! They redid the deck floor and now it looks amazing! Check out the details on her blog here- Living with Liz– The Deck Debacle.

You have a great collection of galvanized metal! Those flowers are so cool and I’m crushing on those chairs. This looks like the perfect spot for coffee!
