I love my rug from Ikea. It’s Black and White and goes with everything. The pattern is bold and modern, yet traditional at the same time. The price is great, only $99 for a 7’x9′ rug.
The problem?
We have two dogs, and a cat. You can see pet hair on it, even after you vacuum. And they stained it. No one peed on it mind you, just walking on it made it dingy.
And maybe there was some People stains too. There might have been a glass of wine spilled once or twice. Just saying…..
This is the Living room a few months back. We had just gotten the new Ikea Sectional Couch. I loved the white and black and blue colors going on with the pillows and the rug. I even got the pillow to match the rug!
Then here it is again with the new Red slipcover and striped pillow covers. Still bold, still loving it.
But every time I cleaned the Living room, I would be so disappointed that the rug looked dirty no matter what I did. I started vacuuming every couple of days. No luck. I tried to clean the spots. Still dingy, still disappointed.
Then I started to look at rugs on line. Indoor-Outdoor Rugs. The kind you can clean with a garden hose.
Well, look at what I found!
It’s from Target. I ordered it online. I love the turquoise color. It’s a bit more green than blue. The white is not white, but more of a lovely cream color.
The pattern is a modern circle repeat. It has great texture. Bold, but not crazy.
I love walking on it, it almost massages your feet.
I like the table and magazine baskets with it. They are the neutrals next to it. The gray painted table, the dark metal of the basket, the rolled wicker, and the canvas liners.
Look at all that texture! Each item is special, with out competing with each other.
I love this rug, it is so pretty. We have had it for a little over a month, and it is holding up great. The best part? It doesn’t show any pet hair!
What happened to the Ikea rug?
Well, it is sitting in the garage waiting for me to use the steam cleaner on it. I am not getting rid of it, oh no. I will be moving it to the Bedroom, where the pets are not allowed to go.
Thanks, for stopping by 🙂
