This is my thrown together Black and White Bohemian Table scape. From start to finish, I think it was around 30 to 40 minutes to complete. You have to have a vision before you start. Then it is putting it all together that is the fun part!
For the September photo a day challenge, one of the days themes was “tablescape”. I really love to set the table and make a pretty tablescape. I think it is a fun decorating activity. I am a weirdo, I know.
At the time, our dining room was filled with inventory for the Etsy shop. We couldn’t see the dining table in the house. The room was so full there were even boxes under the table too! It was way too much to move and put away for one photo.
What should I do? Try and hide the mess? Suck it up and clean up the boxes? Nope. I took the challenge outside to the patio. A table with six chairs was all I needed. Why not?
The tablecloth, isn’t a tablecloth at all! It is a Nate Berkus throw blanket that I got on clearance at Target. I love the dotted white on black pattern and the tan tassel trim.
The blanket wasn’t quite long enough for the patio table, to extend it for the two end place settings I used a couple of black and white placemats.
The white plates I found garage sale-ing one Saturday, early this summer. I received 8 dinner plates, 6 salad plates, and 1 serving late for $12. That was under one dollar a piece! Sometimes you can find the best stuff while thrifting.
I used our everyday flatware. It is a simple set that I have had for many years.
The drinking glasses came from my Parent’s root cellar. They had just brought over a load of old “stuff” for me to sell for them, and these were included. I believe they’re Beer pint glasses. All they needed was a quick wash and they were ready for their close up.
The centerpiece was so simple. Lay down a uniquely shaped cutting board, and top with a potted plant. Easy-peasy. The board is from Ikea, and the Succulents are potted in a vintage planter.
The napkins are really tea towels from the dollar spot at Target. They are laying upside down, the other side says Thankful. I will be using them for Thanksgiving for sure.
I love that this simple tablescape has a lot of texture and pattern. There is so much for the eye to look at.
After I was done taking the photos, I packed everything back up and put it all away.
I think all in all the table was only set for about 30 minutes. With the 30 to 40 minute set up, this was only put together for a little over an hour.
Good thing I took a lot of photos, huh? In a blink of an eye it was gone.
Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my little blog here.
