A bad Trip to Ikea, was still pretty good.

I have been wanting a new coffee table. A square one to fit right in the “L” of the sectional couch. It is not anything I need, I just want one. I think it will fit better for the flow of the living room.

The galvanized metal one that we have, I have had for years. I love it. I love the metal, I love the scalloped “apron” around the top, and I love that it’s “different”. Not the typical type of coffee table you see. It was at a specialty shop here in town. And I looked at it for over a year, it was kind of expensive. When they marked it down, I scooped it up. You know I love a good deal.
Here is the table with the sectional right after we got it. I like how the metal gives another texture to the room. This gray color is just about the only neutral I use, other than black and white. Almost all my rooms have some form of metal in them. Baskets, buckets, trays, and this table.

Here is the table again with the Red slipcover. Again a great neutral color, but the shape is wrong. It just looks and feels a bit awkward. Something a bit smaller and square would be perfect.
I started to look around. I looked online and at thrift stores. Where should we go?
You guessed it, off to Ikea we went. It was about a week after I had been looking online. I didn’t think to check again to make sure they had it in stock before we made the trip. Of course they were out of the color of the model that I was looking at. And the other two colors as well. Shoot, now what?
Well, I am still at Ikea- lets see what else they have!

Oh pretty!
I just love their pillows and pillow covers. All the throw pillows on the couch are the down ones that they have. They are so reasonably priced, $7 each. And of course I have about 8 or 12 of them. I didn’t buy them all at once, maybe one or two every time I would go.
On this trip I didn’t get any new pillow forms. Just new covers, in pretty purples for fall.
The stripe one is satin, and was just $4. The two “circle” patterned ones in the middle were a bit more expensive, $10 each. But I love the pattern. The one in the back that is still in the plastic, is velvet. Or a “velvet” like material. So soft, a beautiful color, and only $5.
I love that for just under $30, I can change the whole look of the room. And they all have zippers too, so I can change them anytime I want. I have quite a few covers and can switch them around whenever the mood strikes. I love to mix it up.

Not the best trip to Ikea. No new coffee table.  But will you look at those colors! They will so change up the room. I can’t wait to switch them out.
Stay tuned for more coffee table adventures to come.
