I am back with another look at the Dining Room Built in.
You can see how I lined the back with Birch Bark Wrapping Paper here.
Here it is all dressed for Spring, and full of fun DIY craft projects.
When I lined the back of the shelves I hoped that they would give some great warmth and texture to the Dining room. I just love how they turned out, and got the warmth I hoped for.
After using so many neutrals the last couple of months, I wanted to bring some bright colors back to the Dining room, blues, and reds and pinks. But because I am me, I still kept some of my Aluminum trays up to have some silver and gray tones to the mix.
This round tray with the Cut out edges is one of my favorites, it is so pretty. On the right is a Quilt pattern DIY art piece I made, and on the left is a strand of black painted wood beads on a black and white striped ribbon. I love the whole strand of wood beads trend right now. It’s an easy project to do while watching TV, but if you don’t want to DIY- there are many lovely ladies on Etsy selling them.
Other DIY craft projects are the two Cross stitched roses, a push pin ampersand, and a couple of painted quilt patterns.
A grouping of blue-green, and gray painted glass bottles. Another stand of wood beads, this one has a few white beads in the mix with the black.
I love these oversized cross stitch rose prints I made. I had seen on Pinterest a few projects where pegboard and yarn were used. I didn’t have pegboard, but I did have a couple of cheap canvases. So- I had the idea to use graph paper and poked holes in the canvas in a grid pattern, and then followed a cross stitch pattern for the roses. It was not a quick process, but I love the end result.
This cute “hello” sign came from Target dollar spot. I just love the cute items you can find there, and the turquoise blue color is perfect for my home.
Don’t you just love this striped bottle? It had olive oil in it, the oil was okay but I may have gotten it just for the bottle. The oil is gone, but we can enjoy this bottle for as long as we like.
When I had finished the cross stitched roses they needed a little something else. So, I ended up painting the edges for a quick “frame”. It finished them up a bit.
Cross stitch, painted quilt patterns, wood bead strands, painted glass bottles
Yay, I love crafts! And I decorate with what I make, all on a budget.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my little blog. I appreciate you coming to see if I can get this blog thing going.
