Happy Memorial Day to you!

Hi There!

Happy Memorial Day to you! And a huge Thanks to all that served for all of us.

On this day I am giving you a quick look from 2015 and 2016, when I decorated the Front Porch for the 4th of July. Pretty Patriotic Decor, with Lots of Red, White and Blue!

Bright Blue pots with Red flowers and leaves. A Red Vintage kitchen stool, a blue step stool, a wicker basket, and silver lanterns. These were all items that I already own and put together to give a Patriotic color story. A subtle hint to the traditional Red, White and Blue.

If you collect and use items and decor that you love, they will always work together. No matter what the theme or feeling that you are trying to express. Look around your home and pull items together to tell the story you want to tell. For example, I have used these Ikea silver candle lanterns over and over again. They are the workhorse of my Front Porch decor. The same could be said about the Blue glazed pots. I collect them whenever I see them for a good price, at garage sales or in the stores. I may have more than you see here đŸ˜‰ But their color is so pretty, and in this vignette they become the “neutral” base color.

The Picnic Basket says “summer” for this 4th of July porch. And just adding a couple of Target Dollar Spot flags and pinwheels give the porch the more traditional Patriot feel. Take away and flags and it is a fun summery look. You can see the full posting here from 2015. I hope that you take a look.

Last summer I had the crazy idea that I wanted to make an oversized American flag. I got a pallet, and made it, and put it on the porch, and loved it! It was an afternoon project that was fun and added so much to the Front Porch. You could see it from down the street as you drove up. It was just the impact I wanted to make.

I used all of the striped items that I could find around the house to compliment the flag. A striped pot, a Target  Dollar spot pennant banner, and even striped Petunias! Again I used the Target flags, and pinwheels, and a star garland layered over the pallet flag.

The Ikea lanterns and Blue glazed pots make another appearance. With galvanized buckets, blue glass jars, and candle holders. I love how the large Green Fern balances all of the other colors, so that the vignette does not come off as too sweet. You know?

You can check out the full post from 2016 here.

Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate it truly.
