Hi There!
I am going to show you how I changed a few accessories I already had on hand for Halloween.
In one word- paint!
I love to thrift, I love to have garage sales, not just go to them.
I had a few things I was ready to let go in the garage. They were waiting for the next sale, just sitting in a box.

All of these items were $1 or less. In fact, all of the glass objects were given to me for free.
I made sure all of the accessories were very, very clean. I wanted to make sure that the paint would stick. Even with a quick project, don’t skip the prep. You will thank me later 🙂
I had a mix of wood, glass and brass (metal) objects to paint. All clean and ready to paint.
I wanted this to be a quick, cheap craft project- so I bought flat value spray paint in Black from the hardware store. This is how they looked after only one coat, I ended up doing three coats of paint for good coverage.
Here is two of the glass vases, and a wood stand.
The candlestick in the middle is wood, the other two brass. They all look like a set now.
The flat paint on the candlesticks in the middle are a subtle contrast of the gloss paint of the other candle sticks I already had.
The candlestick with the wax, I had. The wax leaked during a power outage. I love that look. I also love the black, purple and yellow color story. Very Halloween, in my opinion.
I only used one can of $1.99 value spray paint. Everything else I had, and was ready to let go. If I didn’t like the end result it would have been minimal money spent.
I just love my Gothic Halloween decorating done on a budget.
What do you think? Worth the time and paint?
Have you decorated your house for Halloween?
What is your theme?
