Rustic Winter Cabin Front Porch

Hello There! It’s a New Year and I have so much planned. I have a few things that I am working on for the Etsy shop and a few more things for here on the blog. I’m am pretty excited and can’t wait to share it with you all. But until I can reveal what I’m working on, how about a look at the Front Porch?

I wanted a Rustic Winter Cabin type of feel for the porch this time around. A very masculine vibe.

For this look, I used a lot of different woods and blacks, whites and greens. With a mix of copper, black, and silver metals. Everything has been collected from garage sales and thrift stores. I collect what I like and mix it up later!

I made the little black and white houses. They are pallet blocks that I cut and painted black, then took a white Sharpie paint pen to draw the details. I think they came out pretty cool!

The Tree Farm sign is a DIY project too! I found a free printable on Pinterest and glued it to a canvas painted black. And more details are drawn in white paint pen. Then placed in a thrift store wood frame. So cute, easy and inexpensive.

Everything you see here was thrifted- the table, the milk crates, the bucket, even the greenery in the bucket. I love a good deal, no matter what time of the year I find it. It’s so nice knowing that I will have items to use for holiday decorating.

The black and white artwork at the back is a DIY piece. A post will be coming on how I transformed a thrift store piece of art using paint and a stencil. I am so in love with how it turned out. I am so drawn to the graphic statement it makes.

The sled in the front was my Daugther’s when she was a baby- 24 years ago. The seat pad had seen better days, but the sled itself is still very beautiful. I placed an artificial garland on the seat and placed a couple of bundles of Birch logs on top. The logs were zip tied together when I bought them, I just covered the ties with some burlap ribbon and twine.

The two Green and blond picnic baskets were also thrifted, of course! They were each bought separately and were only a couple of dollars apiece. I love using them here on the porch for lift and texture. I once passed up another basket, and now I wished I hadn’t. Always the way, when you are a thrifter.

A collection of black and silver lanterns are placed around the porch. I love lanterns, and most have been thrifted. But I have also been known to buy a couple or two at Ikea. They have great prices on lanterns.

Can you believe I found these super cute Copper mugs at the Dollar Tree? I bought 4!

The scarf is my Boyfriends, he never wears it! I may as well use it for decor, am I right?

Just how pretty is this garage sale garland? It has the mix of artificial greens and pinecones and little birds nests. Too cool, and it was only a couple of dollars. Way cheaper than new.

A thrift store birdhouse got the black and white paint treatment too!

That gorgeous Buck is a photo that I printed from my computer and glued to a scrap piece of wood from the garage. Then rubbed down with a stain to seal it. I just love his grumpy face!

I layered a Black chalkboard in a dark brown wood frame into with the mix of artwork. It had been repainted and it came out a little streaky but I really like how it turned out- so I left it! Boom! Love it!

Thanks so much for stopping by my little blog. I hope that you’ve enjoyed my Rustic Winter Cabin Front Porch. Please leave me any questions that you may have below. And follow me on Instagram, where I post photos everyday!

  1. Love the rustic manly vibe. Would look great in my front entry-way. No way could this be on our porch as it rains waay too much. So inspirational…
