How I like to Layer

The Front porch was looking good. All blue and pretty. But the plants were a little bit past their prime. And really, I was ready for a change. I wanted to mix it up, and keep it interesting. Let's be honest, I also just like to decorate. So it was time to redo the porch. This will be a long posting, with a lot of photos. I want to show how I layer everything and make it fun. I hope that I can...

Succulents again?

I love succulents, I have a bit of an obsession with them right now. Every time I go to Lowe's, I have to go and look at them. You now, just to see, I can't help it. Like I said, a bit of an obsession. Over a couple of trips I got a few more and took some pretty pictures to show you.I put these together a while ago. I love the look of the rocks and dirt through the glass vases. I clustered them...

This is not a Food Blog #2

Do you take pictures  of your food?  I do, and thought I would make this a regular posting. Photos of the food we make at home and enjoy. Are you hungry? You will be ;)We had a friend over for dinner, and the food looked so pretty. Here is what we had,Deviled Eggs, served on a pink sea salt block. The block adds just a touch of salt flavor. It is an amazing taste. And the pink is so...

Plants on the move

I showed you the front porch a while back. I love blue, and blue flowers. The flowers were new and fresh. So full and pretty. The furniture is painted blue. My favorite color blue at the moment, turquoise. Galvanized metal buckets, and a small pop of yellow from the little pot. Looked great!Well, as it goes with flowers- sometimes they die. Or get overgrown and "leggy" as these pansy's did.They...

A pretty spot by the Garage

Another little spot in the back yard. Small, but I have made it cute and colorful. When we moved in, this spot had a few little waxy perennials. The bricks were there to outline the little bed next to the walkway. A nice start. This spring I moved the stepping stone I made years ago here. I like how the orange glass is almost the same color as the bricks. I also planted some cute little light...

When you know it’s the One.

I love thrifting. I love garage sales and second hand things. But sometimes it is worth it to spend the money. Sometimes you know it's the One. The one you want. The one you have been thinking of.I have been wanting a glass lamp for the living room. I saw this blue-green glass baby at Lowe's. I would have to buy the base and shade separately. I would also needed a harp and finial to connect the...

Are those Flamingos in the back yard?

I love Flamingos. In my early twenties, I had a plastic flamingo that sat in the back seat of my car. She was the kind you put in your yard, a friend gave her to me. I named her Fran. I loved her, not sure where she went to. I probably gave her up when I thought I needed to be a "grown up". Years later at my old house, I had a neighbor who hated flamingos, she felt they were "tacky". So, I...
